A smoothe liquor for getting good and solidly drunk and not regretting it the day after (assuming moderation (so long as "moderation" includes being good and solidly drunk))?
Midori sours (midori liqueur plus sour mix)--tastes like spiked lemonade going down. Color is green though, so that could slow you down.
Vodka tonics.
Alternatively, port: about five or six glasses and you'll be out for the count. I prefer tawny port, 20-30 year old Taylor Fladgate or Dow's or Graham's, but frankly, any will get the job done. It's a good drunk.
Do NOT attempt to do this on champagne or martinis. You'll regret it.
I don't think color would bother me. And "sour" sounds pretty good! Although I tend to prefer lime to lemon.
Port! Totally makes me think of Jack and Stephen. But I've never tasted a wine that I liked, which I hate because it seems like something I should like.
