Oh, and! We watched Alien this weekend because the captain had never seen it and apparently neither had I! (I thought I had but I guess I was thinking of Aliens). Man, does that movie hold up or what! Suspenseful! Understated and quiet in all the right places! Awesome set (and monster, of course) designs. The Giger abounds! And it all just generally looks great.

Next on my queue of course: Aliens and Alien 3!

The scene in the mess hall, where John Hurt loses his meal (and his stomach, and his life) as the monster pops out remains one of the scariest things ever. Nightmare city! Enjoy the rest of the series.

I watched this. Lincoln rented it, probably on laserdisk.^^ It was a very effective movie and not an experience I would ever repeat!

I was too busy thinking of the scene in Spaceballs where it jumps out of John Hurts stomach, picks up a hat and cane, and dances around singing "Hellow my Baby". Hehe.

I'm pretty sure I've seen the rest of them. I know I've seen the third and Resurrection... I think I've seen the second one.

Wow! Yes, very suspenseful! Which is what I remembered most about the series, the suspense. And badass Ripley. It amused me while watching this one that she was apparently the only one badass enough to say "fuck"!

Ridley Scott: No one is allowed to say it but Ripley, this will establish her as way more badass than the rest of you.
