Stretchy fabrics are some of the hardest to work with.
I know you can use tissue paper to help you. It's been a really long time since I've sewn with that kind of material.
You might also be using the incorrect thread. That makes a huge difference.
Here's a link with some tips. You might have to actually try a different needle too.

Thanks so much! I had her try the tissue trick and it did help a lot, especially with the bunching. I don't think she feels it's quite perfect but it's a vast improvement. Perhaps just a bit more adjusting.
Anyway, thank a ton! :)

He, no prob. And again, you might want to try a different thread or different needle. That can make a huge difference too.
And yeah, trying a different stitch type like wystii suggested is a good idea too. I forgot about that.
